Fascinating??????????????
« on: October 26, 2012, 07:51:38 PM »
Haven't these guys heard of AM-PM or AM-AM? (Differential phase and gain, to video folks..............even Bob Cordell knows that.)

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/analog-line-level/146693-john-curls-blowtorch-preamplifier-part-ii-2851.html#post3216766

Varying phase shift, with varying DC offset is not so "fascinating". Seeing how Miller capacitance is voltage dependent..................

Wonder how they will rationalize "real" AM-PM? Won't even get into AM-AM. That may be too much for them to process.

What you mean "we", Paleface?

(Find the reference...)

Most of this is not new in the engineering world. These distortion phenomena have been concerns since at least when color TV was invented.  Analog color TV.

That's just the DG/DP stuff.  PM/AM and the like goes back to Ed Armstrong, the patron saint of screwed engineers everywhere.  (Look at what RCA did for him!)

But, of course, nobody can actually hear this stuff...
No double blind testing was used in the making of this post.

Wonder if they are reading this, as well.

Probably.

Be seeing you!

I can't explain why, suddenly, evolution has stopped in the 80s. In everything, arts as well as technology. Cars are the same, they just eat a little less gas, while they were supposed to fly, in years 2000s. TVs just bigger and flat with more definitions and better colors, and the same programs ever and ever...
We are no more able to walk on the moon, while we were supposed to go to Mars for week-end, in 2000.

About music, each year was the birth of a new sound, rock'nroll, electric blues, country music, ouest coast, Tamla Motown,, Hard rock, heavy metal, jazz rock Funk, reggae etc. Then after the disco years, nothing new....

Never argue with a fool,
they will drag you down to their level,
then beat you with their experience!!!
